Joker in Travel Town – What Is It and How to Get It?
The Joker is perhaps the most powerful item in Travel Town. Learn what it does and the best strategies to acquire and use this ultimate wild card.

What Exactly is a Joker?
The Joker is a special, single-use "wild card" item. Its power lies in its unique ability to duplicate another item. When you drag a mergeable item onto the Joker, the Joker will transform into a copy of that item. For example, if you drag a Level 8 Globe onto the Joker, the Joker becomes a second Level 8 Globe. You can then merge these two Level 8 Globes to create a Level 9 Globe.
This ability makes the Joker incredibly powerful for skipping the most difficult final step of a long merge chain. It can save you an immense amount of time, board space, and energy.
How to Get a Joker
Jokers are the rarest of all special items and are only available as top-tier rewards. You will not find them through normal gameplay.
- The Grand Prize in Major Events: This is the primary way to earn a Joker. It is often the final, ultimate prize for completing a difficult, multi-day special event. You will need to dedicate significant time and resources to reach this milestone.
- Card Collector Album Completion: Some of the special, temporary sticker or card collection albums may offer a Joker as the grand prize for completing the entire album.
- Premium Shop Bundles: Very rarely, a Joker may be included in a high-value bundle available for purchase with real money in the shop.
Because they are so hard to get, you must be extremely strategic about when you decide to use one.
The Best and Only Way to Use a Joker
There is one golden rule for using a Joker: **Only use it on the highest-level item you can create in a merge chain.**
Wasting a Joker on a low or mid-level item is a massive mistake. The value of the Joker increases exponentially with the level of the item you duplicate. Duplicating a Level 4 item saves you a handful of merges. Duplicating a Level 10 item saves you hundreds of merges and a vast amount of energy.
The Optimal Strategy:
- Identify a very high-level item you need for a task, or the final item in a merge chain. Let's say it's a Level 11 item.
- Work diligently to create **one** Level 10 item. This will take a lot of time and resources.
- Once you have that single Level 10 item, drag it onto your Joker. The Joker will transform into a second Level 10 item.
- Merge the two Level 10 items to instantly create the Level 11 item you need.
What NOT to Do With a Joker
- Do not use it to duplicate a Level 3, 4, or 5 item. This is a complete waste.
- Do not use it on producer parts. You should always merge producer parts normally.
- Do not let it sit on your board taking up space if you don't have an immediate high-level use for it. Place it in your pouch for safekeeping.
- Do not merge two Jokers together. This does nothing and wastes them both.
The Joker is your trump card. It's a reward for dedication and should be treated as such. Save it for that one moment when you need to create an almost-impossible item, and it will provide more value than any other item in the game. For more tips on advanced items, see our Splitter Guide.
